SKUU × commercetools integration

The SKUU commercetools integration connects composable-commerce stacks to the SKUU network through APIs on both sides, making distributed inventory one more composable capability.

How the connection sits

commercetools

Partner shops

SKUU sits in the middle as the neutral layer. commercetools only ever exchanges data with SKUU, never directly with another shop.

commercetools is the reference platform for MACH-style composable commerce: everything is an API, and retailers assemble their own stack. SKUU fits that philosophy naturally, because SKUU itself is an API-first layer that does one job, keeping products sellable, and composes with whatever surrounds it.

The integration reads products and inventory through the commercetools APIs and exchanges orders the same way. Because composable retailers usually run several sales channels on one product core, the network shelf model is kept strictly channel-aware: you decide which channels may sell network-backed availability. Available on request.

What syncs

  • Product catalogue
  • Live stock levels
  • Orders
  • Shipments & tracking

How connecting works

  1. 1

    Connect

commercetools links to SKUU through the native connector or the SKUU Connect REST API. Nothing about your storefront, checkout or daily workflow changes.

  2. 2

    Match

Your catalogue is matched against the network on barcode and article code, and verified in a test mode before anything goes live.

  3. 3

    Route

From then on, out-of-stock sales can route to partners with stock, and partner sales can route to you. Every parcel ships white-label under the selling shop's brand.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to replatform to connect commercetools to SKUU?
No. SKUU plugs into your existing commercetools setup. Your storefront, checkout, pricing and customer relationship stay exactly as they are; SKUU only exchanges catalogue, stock and order data in the background.
What does SKUU sync with commercetools?
SKUU reads your product catalogue and live stock levels, and exchanges orders in both directions: a partner shop can fulfil your out-of-stock sale, and your stock can fulfil a sale for a partner shop. Shipment tracking flows back so the customer always hears from the brand they bought from.
Will my customer notice that an order was fulfilled through the SKUU network?
No. Fulfilment is white-label by rule, not by option. The parcel, packing slip and tracking updates all carry your shop's brand, and the customer relationship stays with you.

Joining the network is configuration, not a project. Connect your systems, verify the matching, and let the network start recovering sales.
